Fr. Kevin Burke, S.J. is Mission Vice-President here at Regis University and we of COV&R owe him a real debt for all his help in getting the Conference here this year. He did his doctoral studies at the Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Boston, writing on the theology of Ignacio Ellacuria, S.J. Ellucuria was Rector and Professor of Theology at the University of Central America in El Salvador. He was martyred in 1989. This research led to a book titled, The Ground Beneath the Cross: The Theology of Ignacio Ellacuria. Kevin joined the faculty at Weston and taught fundamental and systematic theology there. He then moved to the Jesuit Theologate at Berkeley as its Dean. His research centers on liberation theology especially in the way it impacts and is impacted by Ignatian Spirituality. He is also the editor of Pedro Arrupe: Essential Writings, part of the Modern Spiritual Masters Series from Orbis Press.
